ITINERARY
Day 01 CUSCO
On your arrival our
representative will take you to your hotel to enjoy a cup of the
famous “mate de coca” (infusion based on coca leaves) In the
afternoon we invite you get acquainted with the capital of the Inkas:
Cusco, we begin our tour with a visit to the Temple of the Sun
Qoricancha, then we will see the Cathedral of Cusco, enjoy the more
than 300 paintings done by the local indians, after this tour we
take you to visit the imposing temple of Sacsayhuaman and its nearby
ruins Kenko, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay.
Overnight at hotel in Cusco.
Day 02: SACRED VALLEY
Visit the green and fertile
Sacred Valley of the Incas aligned by imposing mountains on its
way you can visit the famous Pisac market and then head to
Urubamba where you can enjoy a traditional picnic lunch. In the
afternoon we invite you to visit the great Inca fortress of
Ollantaytambo, where the Incas led by Manco Inca defeated the
Spanish for the first time, you will remain here because you
have to take your train to Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu from
the Ollanta train station. Once you will get to Aguas Calientes
our representative will pick you up and take you to your Hotel.
Overnight in Aguas Calientes.
Day 03: MACHUPICCHU
Early in the morning, after
taking a 25 minutes bus ride we get to the great Inca city:
Machu Picchu, one of the new 07 Wonders of the World. We will
give a tour by the inkan streets and show you interesting places
like the Temple of the Sun, the shrine of the Pachamama,
Quarries, the Solar Clock or Intihuatana, among others amazing
places, after the tour you will have your own time to enjoy
Machu Picchu. In the afternoon you will have a train ride back
to Ollantaytambo and from the train station we will transport
you on a private car back to the Hotel. Overnight at hotel in
Cusco..
Day 04: MARAS E MORAY
We pick you up at around
08.30 a.m. and we meet the group for the tour, we head to the
town of Maras, from there you can appreciate the Vilcanota
Mountain range and snowcapped peaks, along the streets of Maras
town enjoy the outstanding coat of arms from the nobles and
chiefs from the XVII and XVIII centuries. Our first official
stop will be at MORAY, about seven kilometers southwest of Maras
town; this is a unique archaeological site in the region, It has
enormous terraces that overlap concentrically in a huge hole
creating a prototype of a greenhouse, We continue to the Salt
mines of MARAS, the only open salt mine in Peru, where salt is
extracted from the more than 4000 small pools.
At the end of the tour return to
Cusco.
Transfer to your hotel.
Day 05: CUSCO
We pick you up at around
08:30 am and we head south to the TIPON town, where we will
appreciate the amazing control of the inkas over hydraulic
engineering, we continue to PIKILLAQTA, huge pre – Inca
archaeological center located 18 km south east of the city of
Cusco, characterized by its different levels of buildings using
stone, lime and plaster, oddly named at the end of Spanish
colonial period with the term Pikillaqta which means "town of
fleas."
Finally we get to ANDAHUAYLILLAS, traditional town proud of its
colonial church with wonderful paintings done by famous Cusco
art school, the chapel of Saint Peter is also known as "The
Sistine Chapel of the Americas " because of its beautiful
Baroque paintings on the ceiling and walls.
Return to Cusco around noon time.
Day 06: CUSCO
Early in the morning we will
transfer you to the airport for your flight to Lima.
